01Who we are

FractionalCX.ai LLC, trading as fractional/cx.ai (f/cx.ai), is a customer experience design agency. In this policy “we”, “us” and “our” mean FractionalCX.ai LLC. “You” means anyone who visits fractionalcx.ai or contacts us through it.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and to being specific about what we collect rather than reserving every right we could. This policy explains what we collect when you visit our website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

02What this policy covers

This policy applies to our online activities and to visitors to fractionalcx.ai, in respect of the information they share with us or that we collect through the site. It does not apply to information collected offline or through any channel other than this website.

Client engagement information is covered elsewhere

Information you share with us during a paid engagement — documents, data extracts, transcripts, interview notes, or anything else provided under a statement of work — is governed by the confidentiality and data-processing terms of that engagement agreement, not by this website policy. Where those terms and this policy differ, the engagement agreement governs.

04Information we collect

The personal information you are asked to provide, and the reason you are asked to provide it, is made clear to you at the point we ask for it.

Information you give us

  • When you contact us through the site or by email, we receive your name, email address, any telephone number you provide, the content of your message, and anything you choose to attach or include.
  • When you request a whitepaper, a podcast episode, or another resource, we receive the contact details you submit and a record of what you requested.
  • When we correspond about a possible engagement, we receive the professional context you choose to share — your role, your organization, and the problem you are describing.

Information collected automatically

  • Standard web-server log data, described in section 6.
  • Cookie and analytics data, described in sections 7 and 8.
What we do not do

We do not sell personal information. We do not serve advertising on this site, and we do not operate an advertising network or share your information with advertising partners. We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal information through this website, and we ask that you do not send them to us through it.

05How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain fractionalcx.ai
  • Respond to your inquiry, and continue a conversation you have started with us
  • Send you the resource, whitepaper, or podcast episode you requested
  • Improve, personalize, and expand the site and the material we publish
  • Understand and analyze how the site is used, in aggregate
  • Develop new services and refine the ones we offer
  • Communicate with you about our work, where you have asked us to or where we have an existing professional relationship with you
  • Detect and prevent fraud and misuse of the site

We do not use the information you send us through this site to train any machine-learning model, and we do not provide it to third parties for that purpose.

06Log files

fractionalcx.ai follows the standard practice of using log files. These files record visitors when they visit websites; all hosting providers do this as part of their analytics. The information collected in log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider, date and time stamp, referring and exit pages, and the number of clicks. None of it is linked to information that identifies you personally. It is used to analyze trends, administer the site, understand how visitors move through it, and gather aggregate demographic information.

07Cookies and similar technologies

Like most websites, fractionalcx.ai uses cookies. Cookies store information such as your preferences and the pages you visited, and are used to optimize your experience by adapting the page to your browser and to what you have already seen.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Detailed instructions for managing cookies in specific browsers are available on each browser's own website. Parts of the site use your browser's local storage to remember interface preferences — which phase of a diagram you were reading, for example. That information stays in your browser and is never transmitted to us.

08Analytics

We use a web analytics service to understand, in aggregate, which pages are read, how visitors arrive, and where they leave. Analytics providers set their own cookies and process data under their own privacy policies. We use analytics to improve what we publish and how the site is organized, not to build individual profiles of visitors.

You can opt out of common analytics collection using the browser add-ons and controls the provider publishes, or by disabling cookies as described above.

09Advertising

We do not serve advertising on fractionalcx.ai. We do not participate in advertising networks, we do not host third-party ad servers or ad tags, and we have no advertising partners with whom your information is shared.

Where we promote our own work on third-party platforms — a professional network, for example — that platform's own privacy policy governs any data it collects about you on its service. We have no access to or control over cookies set by those platforms.

10Third-party websites and services

This Privacy Policy does not apply to other websites. We link to external sites as a convenience, and we recommend you consult their privacy policies for detail on their practices and their opt-out options.

We use a small number of service providers to run the site and our business — hosting, email, analytics, and scheduling. They process information only to provide those services to us and under obligations of confidentiality.

11How we share information

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only:

  • With the service providers described above, to the extent needed to run the site and to correspond with you
  • Where you have asked us to, or where sharing is the obvious purpose of what you sent us
  • Where required by law, legal process, or a lawful request from a public authority
  • To establish or exercise our legal rights, or to defend against legal claims
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case we will give notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy

12How long we keep it

We keep the information you send us for as long as it is needed for the purpose you sent it, and then for as long as we have a legitimate business or legal reason to retain it. Inquiry correspondence is typically retained for the life of the professional relationship and for a period afterwards; analytics data is retained in aggregate. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, as described in sections 12 and 13.

13Your California privacy rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, California consumers have the right to:

  • Request that a business collecting a consumer's personal data disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal data it has collected about that consumer
  • Request that a business delete any personal data it has collected about the consumer
  • Request that a business that sells a consumer's personal data not sell it
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the right is stated here because you are entitled to know it. If you make a request we will respond within one month. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at innovate@fractionalcx.ai.

14Your rights under the GDPR

We want you to be aware of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access — you may request copies of your personal data. We may charge a small fee for this service.
  • The right to rectification — you may request that we correct information you believe is inaccurate, or complete information you believe is incomplete.
  • The right to erasure — you may request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to restrict processing — you may request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to object to processing — you may object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to data portability — you may request that we transfer the data we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

If you make a request we will respond within one month. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at innovate@fractionalcx.ai.

15International transfers

We are based in the United States and the information you send us is processed there. If you contact us from outside the United States, you are sending your information to a country whose data protection law may differ from your own. Where we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where required.

16Security

We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect the information you send us, including access control, encryption in transit, and limiting the number of people who can see it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

Please do not send confidential material through this website

The contact form and our general inbox are not a secure channel for confidential or commercially sensitive material. If you need to share something of that kind, tell us and we will agree a confidentiality agreement and a secure route first.

17Children's information

Adding protection for children using the internet is part of our responsibility. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, monitor, and guide their children's online activity.

f/cx.ai is a business-to-business website and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided this kind of information on our website, contact us immediately and we will promptly remove it from our records.

18Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently. Please review this policy periodically.

19Contact us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, or want to exercise any of the rights described above, contact us at innovate@fractionalcx.ai or by post at the address below.

Questions about your data

If anything here is unclear, or you want to know exactly what we hold about you, ask. We would rather answer a specific question about your situation than have you read this page twice.
